Rajvilas is one of 13 health club and spa developments for Oberoi Hotels, including city centre and resort locations.
The project comprises a new hotel constructed in the style of a traditional fort with extensive ornamental landscaping and tented guestroom pavilions. Mackenzie Wheeler were appointed to design the spa facility, formed from an existing haveli, extended to include a tranquil courtyard water garden with outdoor spa tubs and a contemplative walled garden.
Facilities include separate male and female lounge and locker rooms with dedicated sauna. steam, shower and plunge suites. Courtyard circulation leads to a central gymnasium; and staircase rise to first floor treatment rooms and communal suites with balcony views over the landscaped estate. Exterior and interior design draws reference from traditional motifs and adopts local materials, including the spectacular mud-rendered walls inspired by ‘The Pink City’.Voted Best New Hotel of the year, Rajvilas is now a member of the ‘Small luxury Hotels of the World’ portfolio.
