Mitika Apartments, Seven Large Apartments by Parsonson Architects

This Mitika Apartments was designed by Parsonson Architects. The building contains seven large apartments, one per floor and each with 270 sq.m floor area and 50 sq.m of decks. Decks and living spaces are along the wide frontage, facing north out to the harbor and hills. By tilting the kitchen, main bedroom and ensuite at 45 degrees , these rooms gain views to the sea past the side of the neighboring building and yielded an unusual zigzag hallway.

Designed by Tyler Engle Architects, This Seattle Institution looked to expand within the Pike Place Market without loosing its lively and inviting dining experience. The new space tripled the seating and preserved the celebrated character of the original restaurant.True to its history, seating wraps the Kitchen and Bar keeping the patrons engaged with the chef and staff. Tables along the perimeter offer views to the market and the Olympics beyond. The expansion retained the landmark building’s historical character and the unique experience which made Matt’s in the Market a Seattle institution.

Designed by Eckersley Garden Architecture, nestled amongst large native trees, clean and simple of Garden Architecture. The brief for this garden came from a young active family who love to entertain and didn’t want to spend all of their spare time slaving in the garden. A new pool was also an important inclusion for the fast growing tribe of kids. The result is a contemporary garden which extends the strong lines of the architecture into the garden and then softens them with carefully sited plantings. Material choices are also sympathetic to the neutral tones of the house – muted greys of pebble seeded aggregate and weathered timber all work easily in the space.

Designed by Tony Owen Partners, this facility houses the national headquarters for Harley Davidson Australia. It is the first building TONDM are designing for the new Lane Cove Business Park for Demian Developments. It contains office space, showrooms as well as training facilities, classrooms, warehousing, gymnasium and breakout space. The design was inspired by the mechanical specification of the motor bike engine.

From Architects :” The goal was to provide the maximum exposure for the swimming hall to the external environment. The hall was designed as a perfect square, featuring separate areas for the different functions of the building. A glass roof gives the impression of swimming under the open sky. The ‚theatre set architecture“ of today’s recreational buildings has been intentionally avoided. This is Blessings Golf Clubhouse in Johnson, Arkansas, one of luxury clubhouse was designed by Marlon Blackwell Architect. From Architect : A stand-alone structure set at the base of the hill, with its footprint minimally contacting the land, the Blessings Golf Clubhouse acts as a type of covered bridge. This bridging creates an entry portal that operates as a breezeway framing the eighteenth green, acts as a threshold to the golf course beyond, and is an event space for golf tournaments. Conceived as an animate form, the building receives the visitor beneath its cool and shaded underbelly, not unlike the clefts and caves found in the nearby hills. The Blessings Golf Clubhouse attempts to demonstrate that a conventional commercial building system can be transfigured into a contemporary design solution that recalls a traditional lineage, that of the traditions of the game of golf. Designed by Marlon Blackwell Architect, Fulbright Building located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. From Architect : ” A renovation project intended to revitalize the civic quality of a historically and architecturally significant library building, while inserting a new program of professional offices. The Fulbright Building was built in 1962 to house the Fayetteville Public Library and remained the Library’s home until the Library moved to a new facility in 2004. Respecting the original design of the building the steel frame structure has remained relatively untouched. The upper floor of the building is lit from exterior glass windows and skylights cut into the existing roof. To make the lower floor more marketable, holes were cut in the upper floor slab below each of the skylights and staircases dropped into them. The 1990s addition, a double height space with a stair and handicap ramp, was converted into a large conference lounge area with an acoustical ‘shroud,’ clad in black zinc, suspended above. The sculptural figure of the ‘shroud’ acts as an art piece seen through the glass from the street. ”

Scratchley’s Restaurant is Beach Restaurant by EJE Architecture. This restaurant is now twice the size of the restaurant and the existing precedents and ecologically sustainable, uses a beautiful view over the water that stretches from Newcastle Nobby Head of Harbor Country. Architecturally, the building was conceived as an umbrella covering a deck with a great degree of up-front roof slope to maximize the view. A sun angle cut of 68 ensures that customers eat Scratchley interaction with the Port of Newcastle Harbor. The use of plantation wood adds warmth to the experience and improves the mood.
