Villa Nielsen is  located in Forest Edge, designed by Willa Nordic. Exterior with dark brown color so looks polite and cool.  From the outside  looks ordinary, but when we enter  into the interior space, ordinary exterior impression was immediately replaced by modern interior. Bowen Mountain Custom Home by CplusC Architects

July 21, 2010 By: Category: contemporary house design

This is Bowen Mountain custom home was designed by CplusC Architects.
Description from Architects:
Conceived as a simple weekender, this pavilion house grew into something a lot more substantial. Landscaping, a pool, pool house and sauna were added to the original brief, with spectacular results. The house has a steel frame that was welded on-site prior to being shot-blasted and finished with a two-part epoxy paint system. This is one of the longest lasting corrosion protection systems available today.

New and recycled Australian hardwoods were used to frame the steel structure. Soft-toned grey steel used for the dramatically angled roof blends with the muted tones of the surrounding bush. Glass was used extensively throughout the home, with dramatic effect. The structure seems to almost hover over the site and indoor and outdoor spaces merge seamlessly.

A A House in Sao Paulo by Andrade Morettin Architects

July 21, 2010 By: Category: contemporary house design

This A A house is located in Sao Paulo was designed by Andrade Morettin Architects.
Description from Architects:
This is a residence embedded in an urban lot in the neighborhood of Morumbi, Sao Paulo. Through its implantation on the site, it seeks to leave its ground floor entirely free, giving continuity to the public space. To enhance this potential, the glass prism that serves as a “natural light injector” inside the house, is installed so that it can be lifted up (like a crane), completely freeing the entrance level.

Cutler Residence, Contemporary House Design by Murdock Young Architects

June 28, 2010 By: Category: contemporary house design

Description of Cutler Residence from Architects:
Perched on a bluff overlooking Block Island Sound, the property is a flag lot at the edge of a new subdivision, bordered on three sides by water, wetlands, and woods. The client asked us to design a house with a minimal impact on the pristine landscape, maximum exposure to the views and all the amenities of a year round vacation home.
The basic requirements of each space were considered integrally with the effects of sunlight, breezes and views. The house was conceived as a lens, continually framing and magnifying the subtle changes in the surrounding environment. [ Murdock Young Architects ]
