This minimalist house was designed by Andrea Oliva from Cittaarchitettura. According to the Digsdigs : It occupies a flat area about 60m away from the street. The house has a rectangular shape of approximately 11 m wide, 34 m long and 6 m tall. It visually consists of two elements: the porch made of concrete and finished with white plaster, and the main body inside of it. Large windows that frame a beautiful landscape around it are protected by the depth of the porch during the summer. These windows have wooden frames with laminated glazing so they are also protected from cold winds during the winter. This house is located in Mt. Merino, designed by Joel Sanders Architect. According to the Architect : This house is designed to take advantage of breathtaking views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains – made famous by the Hudson River School painters in the late 19th century. Cedar-clad retaining walls, define the compact footprint of the 2200 square-foot house, organized around a two-story interior garden court. Embedded in the hillside, the house was designed from the inside out: like a movie camera viewfinder, the house captures a sequence of carefully framed views organized along a continuous circulation route. As it spirals around an interior courtyard, this concrete path threads its way through a chain of indoor and outdoor spaces that take viewers from the loft-like living/dining level on the upper level, past a pool area sheltered by a dramatic canopy to a wood-clad den and outdoor dining room below. Here are pictures of minimalist white house, was designed by GLR Architects. Located in in a large site near the “Chipinque” National Park and features wonderful views towards the Sierra Madre.
