Sunset Hill Residence by Robin Chell Design
Description from Robin Chell Design :
Built on a hillside overlooking Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, this new 2500-square foot home features expansive windows and a combination of warm, durable materials, including concrete flooring and natural cedar siding. The interior scheme focused on a modern, neutral palette while expressing the architecture and maximizing light throughout the home. A separate office for the client was created in the lower floor, introducing a true live-work use into this neighborhood. A central “lantern” comprised of an open stairway and three-story light well was designed as the visual and functional focal point for the home.
Robin Chell Design also coordinated and specified exterior materials, color palette and building massing with the architects.

Waterstudio.NL is the only architectural firm focussing fully on designing in, on, and at the water. The firm’s clients are very diverse. Waterstudio considers it only natural that the architecture is as diverse as well, because design is the result of innovation, and thus produces new architecture continuously.
One of their project is Watervilla De Hoef, realized in June 2006 in Netherlands. Please visit Waterstudio.NL site for further detail.

Spanish Art Deco House by Tom Bomford Architects

July 05, 2010 By: Category: Modern House Design

Description from Architects :
Here was an existing Spanish Art Deco house with a pitched tiled roof. It looked very tired indeed. The client liked the location and general internal feel of the house. It was very poorly equipped by modern standards. The developed brief called for a virtual rebuild. The temptation to build anew was rejected as this would have restricted the amount of accommodation we could provide under new-build DA conditions. The main design idea is the provision of a daring semi-circular extension to the East side, the full height of the house. The tiled roof was removed and replaced with a low pitch metal deck. Nautical and Asian elements are incorporated in the form of circular windows and internal moon door opening. Generally openings to the East have been enlarged to take advantage of water views. To the west a new Entry and Day Room take advantage of the front garden and afternoon winter sun.
Designed by Tom Bomford Architects.

Buama House’s Interior Design

May 27, 2010 By: Category: Interior Design, Modern House Design

Description from GAD :
BUAMA is an interior renovation project for a young couple living in Beykoz, a suburb of Istanbul. As a concept, a new structure is inserted in the existing structure. The new structure maintains the existing heights, yet proposes a more organic solution. The smooth and endless lines reference infinite space, as there is no clear distinction between the floors & walls, or between the walls & ceiling. Light scatters on the organic surface in a way that seems almost limitlessness.
Please visit GAD site for further detail about this house.
