Imagine that you’d like to build a beautiful house in the middle of nowhere! Would it look anything like this one? Not actually in the middle of nowhere, architect David Jay Weiner has just put up a contemporary cottage design in Stephentown, New York, that totally caught our eye. Meant as a weekend retreat place, the unique and irregular cottage comes with expansive glazed facades set in a black wooden frame. On the inside, a a feeling of relaxation and serenity prevails. Everything has it’s very own special place. There are tall ceiling rooms with modern furniture and white walls and floors. Definitely stands out from its pastoral, grassy meadow surroundings.

House in the Pampas by Manuela Garcia Faure Architecture, in Buenos Aires, Argentina

June 03, 2013 By: archinhome Category: Architecture

This House in the Pampas is designed by Manuela Garcia Faure Architecture, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The asymmetry of it’s 25 windows frames thousands of views of the Argentine pampas. Multiple vistas arouse curiosity, contemplation and motion, like paintings coming alive or screens capturing the changes of light and time; the harvesting of the crops, the deepness of the horizon and the ancient ombu tree. Space experimentation is vital for the concept of this L shaped house, its different volumes with changing ceiling heights create different atmospheres.
