May 16, 2013 By: archinhome Category: Home Design

Applecross is an elite suburb of Perth, Australia with great views on Swan River. This house for family who often hosts guests was designed by Jackson Clements Burrows. It is divided into two halves – Verandah (the western side of the house) and Enclosure (the eastern side of the house). The western side characterized by double height space enclosed by operable louvers which control natural ventilation and shading levels. It’s mostly occupied during the day and evening. The eastern side hosts the kitchen, garage, bedrooms, study and bathrooms. There are also the dining room and various lounge areas which flow into outdoor space. The translucent roof is striped with timber battens and the floors are a warm dark timber. Cross-ventilation cools the spaces while passive solar energy heats them.

Modern Dhaka Residence Interior by ONG & ONG Architect

July 07, 2011 By: archinhome Category: Interior Design, Modern House Design

Dhaka Residence is one of interior project from ONG & ONG Architect. Modern and luxury interior and so the furniture. In dining room there is a large rectangle dining table that can accommodate about fourteen people. The bedroom is so large an other room.

Description from Architect:
The client has very defined ideas on interior spaces, so it was important for us to effectively connect the various areas that make up this eight-storey residence.

With an exterior lined with timber and mild steel, the interior uses similar materials while also adding those with more tactile surfaces, such as slatted wood, custom patterned stone and oxidised steel mixed into the rich silver wallpaper.

The subtlety of the palette is key to making the residence both luxurious and understated.
