Architecture and Home Design

This house was designed by Tony Owen NDM to capture the spirit of Sydney’s Bondi Beach in a home which both beach house and urban style dwelling. The line of the wave is the underlying element which runs through the house. It forms an entry wing over the garage at the south and rises to give greater height to the living room at the north end. Kitchen, dining and living areas are combined and lead out to the garden. The centrepiece of the area is a built-in, cantilevered polished concrete workbench in the shape of a moulded seven. High windows run the length of one wall, while a low, glassed wall on the other side looks out on an elegant pool. Despite plenty of glass, the neighbouring houses are not visible. Because glass is everywhere in the house it isn’t surprise that the owner also owns glass supply business.

This house is located in South Africa, this one of beautiful white house. This house has modern white interior design with rustic touch that gives some coziness: fireplaces in every room and firewood. The bathroom made in open bathroom: the walls are made of glass, and the owners can open them to have a bath right outside.

Concrete House Design by A-cero in Spain Inspired by Sculptures of Jorge Oteiza. This contemporary house located in outskirts of Madrid, Spain. It has 2600 square meters of area includes the garage and facilities, four bedrooms, a library, a living room, a kitchen and servant’s quarter. Inspired by sculptures of Jorge Oteiza. At night when it’s illuminated it’s like one more modern sculpture.

From M.A Architecture : ” This residence is a sensitive addition to an existing rural log compound. A new, more modern interpretation of the style of the existing flanking log home and log garage was used for the structure that links them, which contains the core elements of the compound-kitchen, dining, living room and family bedroom upstairs.

Energy efficiency, recycled green materials and sustainability drove decision on the project. Reclaimed timber framing, intricate log joinery and local limestone are used to form a core element counterpoint to more modern materials and expressions. ”

This home was renovated by Magnus Architects, with a simple addition in front to create a sense of entrance and an addition to the rear to update the kitchen and master suite, this home will become the permanent residence of a world-renowned metallurgist and equally recognized molecular biologist.
