Architecture and Home Design

Applecross is an elite suburb of Perth, Australia with great views on Swan River. This house for family who often hosts guests was designed by Jackson Clements Burrows. It is divided into two halves – Verandah (the western side of the house) and Enclosure (the eastern side of the house). The western side characterized by double height space enclosed by operable louvers which control natural ventilation and shading levels. It’s mostly occupied during the day and evening. The eastern side hosts the kitchen, garage, bedrooms, study and bathrooms. There are also the dining room and various lounge areas which flow into outdoor space. The translucent roof is striped with timber battens and the floors are a warm dark timber. Cross-ventilation cools the spaces while passive solar energy heats them.

It may be a pool house, but this cool 364m2 suburban Connecticut home could easily be the abode of choice. Designed by forward-thinking New York-based Hariri & Hariri Architecture, the Wilton Pool House idea is based on the principles of modern minimalism and a strong connection to nature. The pool house architecture is characterized by a long, angular archway of rich, Brazilian walnut wood that runs the length of the pool and folds over an outdoor seating area. The archway provides protection from the sun when lounging, swimming, or enjoying an al fresco meal. Glass walls enclose the main living areas, which contains a kitchen, bar, bathroom and a small terrace.

Prospector Rsidence is located in Sun Valley and set on a sloping site with expansive mountain views. Designed by Marmol Radziner.
Description from the Architects :
Set within the hillside, the stepped three-story home maximizes the available land and connects the home to the landscape. Derived from the surrounding landscape, the color palette and material selection includes stone veneer, red cedar siding, and bluestone flooring.

The living room and dining room are divided by a large stone fireplace. A second, more casual living space, also anchored by a stone fireplace, adjoins the kitchen. Throughout the home, roof decks and patios extend the living space into the landscape.

Z house is located on the eastern coastline of Jutland, Denmark. This is a luxury house was designed by Eva Harlou. This is designed for a family of two parents and four children. Here are pictures of Luxury House Design in Madrid, Designed by A-cero, located on a 3.500 m2 plot presenting a light slope that is used by the access ramp to the garage. The floor plan has the form of a greek cross, and is delimited by the access pathway and the other properties on both of its sides. The design of this 1.200 m2 compact single-family house is guided by two main concepts: a great functionality in the distribution of the interior spaces and their openness to the exterior to make the most of the views. Both ideas are also present in the interior design and in the selection of the construction materials. Inside the house, the design follows a functional structure evolving around the hall stairs, an central design element that provokes a surprising visual and spatial effect.
