Luxury Riverfront Home with Beautiful Perth’s Swan River Views by Hartree Architects

June 19, 2013 By: archinhome Category: Architecture, luxury home design, Modern Home

this Luxury Riverfront Home with Beautiful Perth’s Swan River Views is designed by Hartree Architects.
Hartree + Associates Architects is well recognized design practice with a creative, dynamic team of architects and interior designers in Perth, Australia. B-Hive is one of their great contemporary works for a family of five. It’s the luxury riverfront home with beautiful Perth’s Swan River views. The project combine indoor and outdoor areas in order to maximize flexibility and comfort of the family. The design solution involved defining zones of the home and wrapping the public spaces with the roof which itself spans a 17m shelter. Concealing glass panels within the stonework, the large riverside veranda and the infinity-edge pool are things that characterize the house and differ it for many other houses near by.

Riva Hotel Design by Foster and Partners, in London, United Kingdom

June 11, 2013 By: archinhome Category: Architecture

This Riva Hotel is designed by Foster and Partners, located in London, United Kingdom.
The hotel, developed by Riva Properties is characterised by a distinctive layered glass shell, which floods the public spaces with daylight. Articulated as a 13-storey structure, several levels are sunk into the ground, keeping the building’s profile low in response to the immediate surroundings.

The rooms are contained within six pavilions, linked by bridges and wrapped in a unifying glass envelope, which acts as a barrier to aircraft noise. The entrance lobby has a floating glass deck with views down to the sunken restaurant level, shallow pool and waterfall. This restaurant floor is accessed via a timber walkway and incorporates a business centre, as well as a variety of venues to eat and drink. The double-height conference facilities, which have their own reception to allow separate access from street-level, encircle a top-lit atrium that brings natural light deep into the building and down to the lower levels.

Carrasco International Airport Design by Rafael Viñoly Architects, in Montevideo, Uruguay

July 29, 2009 By: archinhome Category: Architecture

Carrasco International Airport is designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects, located in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The new terminal at Carrasco International Airport, which serves Uruguay’s capital city of Montevideo, is the firm’s first airport project and the second of Rafael Viñoly’s two buildings currently rising in his home country. Created to expand capacity and spur commercial growth and tourism in the surrounding region, the terminal is scheduled for completion in early 2009.
The design of the building emphasizes its public zones and amenities, providing these areas with an abundance of open space and natural light. Arriving travellers, for example, pass through a fully glazed mezzanine level that helps orient them to the terminal space before they descend to the baggage claim and other services. A public, landscaped terrace and a restaurant occupy the second floor, providing sweeping views of the runway and the main concourse.
Independent access roads service departures on the first floor and arrivals on the ground level. An open atrium adjacent to the street entrance opens the ground floor to the monumental space of the main hall, visually and spatially linking the beginning and ending stages of a traveller’s journey.
Key features include a curved roof which maintains a low profile on the landscape, a strategic use of daylighting and views that guide travellers through arrival/departure sequence and a design that highlights public spaces for both travellers and non-travelling friends and family.

“In Uruguay, friends and family still come to greet you at the airport or see you off,” says Rafael Viñoly, ”so this terminal provides great spaces for the people who aren’t travelling as well as those who are. The atrium, the main hall, the terrace, and the passenger concourse make this a dramatic and welcoming place for everyone.”

Modern House Design with Glass and Timber Pavilions by Leuschke Group

July 13, 2009 By: archinhome Category: Home Design, Modern Home

This house is designed by Leuschke Group. Warkworth House is designed like a cosy environment for a single family. It is designed as a series of stick pavilions made of glass and timber. They have the simple shape and planing but with unusually shaped roofs. The kitchen is backbone of the house which connects private and public spaces with opening to the pool areas. Children wing is separated from the main areas by a wide corridor in order to make it more quite and relaxing. Materials choice and color theme make the house looks quite minimalist and definitely contemporary without being too aggressive and cool. The house is perfect for relaxing New Zealand lifestyle and for family with several children which like to play all day long.
